Tom Lowndes Profile

So here we go. My career as a BakerU blogger has officially begun. Now, I promise not to bombard you with constant  updates like you might find on some of your friends’ social networking sites. But I will talk about the things that many of you can relate to and identify within your own lives– being a student athlete, those deadly 8:30 a.m. classes or counting down the days until the next break or three-day weekend.

So yes, as I said above, I am a student athlete. But unlike 98% of Baker’s student athletes I am slightly different in that I am an international student athlete. My name is Tom Lowndes and I am a member of the Baker University men’s soccer team. Most of you probably already know me for being that guy on the soccer pitch who constantly is shouting at the officials. Hey, it may not be the greatest thing to be known for, but at least I’m known in some way!

As you can imagine, soccer is my passion. I live, breathe, sleep and eat soccer. The fact that I am actually calling it soccer proves to you just how long I have been at Baker! Oh if only my dear friends from back home could see me now! So like I said, expect plenty of updates of both the men’s and women’s soccer teams, but also about all of our teams here at Baker. This university has a fantastic family atmosphere and I think this is shown by the amazing support given by all the teams on campus to each other.

I look forward to hearing what you guys think!

No matter how you might try to hide them, those are still chicken legs.
