The Legend of Sleepy Hollow
This year’s Baker Theatre Season is off to a great start with the show, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. The story follows scaredy-cat schoolteacher, Icabod Crane, as he tries to win the heart of Miss Katrina Van Tassel, is pranked by Brom Bones, and attempts to control his students and choir.
The show is full of physical comedy, blacklight special effects, singing, dancing, real scares, and real laughs.
Yesterday, the cast and crew put on two repeat performances. The first one was a special matinee showing for theater kids in the surrounding high schools. In the morning, the high schoolers attended different workshops aimed toward their interests that were staffed by both students and faculty members. Then, they were served a quick lunch and got to see the show’s premiere. Following curtain call, the visiting students were welcome to stay longer for a Q&A session with the entire cast.
Last night was the first show open to the public – and what a show it was! Don’t miss out: the show is still going Friday and Saturday at 7:30, and Sunday at 2:00.
